The truth and reality of maintaining a routine to start implementing self-care.
Hello and welcome. In 2020, I started seeing a therapist because I thought I was going through postpartum depression. After several visits, I was told it was not postpartum depression. My diagnosis was that I lacked self-care. Therefore, I was suffering from self-neglect. Being a new mom and being in the legal field is very demanding. Self-care was the last thing that I knew how to do. I always had to put everything and everyone before me at work and home. I was never taught to pace myself and think about myself. Still, thankfully, due to my legal background, I knew how to do extensive research. Therefore, I started researching. I started researching what self-care is and how to do it. Four years later, I am here with the world, sharing how to begin and maintain this process.
The first step is to set up a routine.
Tip #1 - Outline your day for your routine ahead
Figure out what your day-to-day consists of and at what time of day you want to do your self-care routine. Is morning or evening better. When you outline your day, you realize how many tasks you have given yourself for that day. If there are too many tasks, determine which one can be moved to the next day so you can do your self-care routine for the day.
Tip #2 - Five Minute Self-Care Routines Exist
Pick a self-care ritual! If your thought process has been "safe self-care takes too long," fear no more because 5-minute self-care routines exist. From the examples below, determine which five-minute self-care routine you want to implement into your routine.

Tip #3 - Trial and Error
Move your tasks throughout the day to determine if you prefer morning or evening routines. Trial and error is part of finding your routine. The first days are frustrating, but I have a whole Instagram account dedicated to giving you support. DM me. We are in this together.
Don’t Forget to Add a Closing Statement
It can be challenging to find the time for self-care, but it's essential for our well-being. So, why not make it a fun and engaging experience for yourself? Try out some of the five-minute self-care routines that I mentioned earlier and see which one resonates with you the most. And don't worry if it takes some trial and error to figure out your ideal routine - we all go through that. But remember, I'm here to support you every step of the way, so feel free to DM me on Instagram if you need any help or just want to chat. Let's make self-care a priority together!
